Three matches of the four quarterfinals for the Clanbase NationCup XI have now finished. Tonight saw Germany and Norway victorious over Denmark and the Netherlands respectively.
Germanyvs.
Denmark - 2-0
The first map was extremely tight finishing at 16:14 to Germany after an intense battle on de_train. It could have easily gone either way with both half as close as the other. The second match on de_nuke was less close, with Germany dominating the terrorist half 12:3. However, Denmark clawed back in the second half making Germany play it out until the last, when a bomb defuse sealed the fates of the two teams.
de_train –Germany 16:14 Denmark
de_nuke -Germany 16:12 Denmark
Norwayvs.
Netherlands - 2-0
In what some predicted as a could-be close game, due to similar playing styles, the game was almost a whitewash for the Norwegian well-oiled machine that could well find themselves in the final, after a lack of testing in the quarter finals. This game also featured some notable performances such as a comical P90 round by prb, and a clutch by the same player. However, he wasn’t the only player as the scoreboard reflects. Overall it was a good game, and hopefully the games will continue to get more exciting as the competition progresses to the final.
de_nuke –Norway 16:10 Netherlands
de_train –Norway 16:8 Netherlands
Russiavs.
Hungary - 2-0
Russia thrashed Hungary on both maps, truly establishing their dominance in this competition.
de_train –Russia 16:3 Hungary
de_nuke -Russia 16:7 Hungary
Fixtures still to come:
Swedenvs.
Greece
As usual, HLTV will be providing coverage of the other quarterfinals, so stay tuned for that!
